Architect ADD, Inc. |
Odeh Engineers teamed with architect ADD, Inc. for the design of this high-rise mixed use project on a site in South Boston. The project includes retail and lobby space at the ground level, five levels of parking and 16 residential levels. The project is designed for LEED™ Certification. The new cast-in-place concrete structure includes 202 residential units, some as small as 450 square feet, and feature loft-style designs and exposed concrete structural elements throughout. The project was originally designed using steel framing. However, late in the design and during construction of the pile foundations, Odeh was asked to pivot to a concrete flat plate system. In less than one month, the team was able to completely re-engineer the 20-story structure, including supplements to the pile foundations, to switch to concrete without any significant schedule impact. |
